In the midst of this up and down weather we’re having, I’m remembering my parent’s new outdoor oasis in New Hampshire. Wishing I could transport myself there, plus some sunshine, right now. This was pretty much my spot for an entire week this summer. All I can say is: patio goals to the max.
My parents recently moved from our home in Atlanta to a beautiful condo in Portsmouth, NH. An 1,800 sq. ft. condo is pretty much describing a mansion in my world (and to a lot of Torontonians) but for them coming from the norms of copious amounts of space in the south to a one level condo was quite a challenge. They sold a good chunk of their furniture to fit into the new ‘cozier’ home.
The one area though where space was definitely not compromised was the patio…and thank goodness because it provided some MUCH needed sun filled days this summer. They went for an airy, beachy feel with the patio set from Frontgate. I’m in complete and utter love with the light colors in the wicker and the weathered finish of the teak wood. The topes and light browns really make the navy pillows pop. The outdoor rug provides a neutral base and has a simpler pattern to allow focus on the accessories. All of these elements juxtapose the industrial feel of the condo’s exterior which made me fall even more in love.
Despite the completely clean look it gives, I’ll admit I was skeptical of the cushion-less seating idea at first. Honestly though, the weaved wicker is quite comfortable. And who can go wrong with having less cushions to worry about when it rains?
What really makes a patio come to life are flowers and my mom really hit the spot with these beauties. The hangers are from Gardener’s Supply Company and they disperse water evenly. Geniussssss.
All together the selections on this patio make for the most relaxing ambiance which is ultimately the goal in your outdoor space. Wine, please!
Last but definitely not least, what patio is complete without a grill? My parents got the mother of all grills and I put it to good use every single day. Thai Curried Chicken with Peanut Sauce anyone?
I hope you’re been inspired to freshen your patio this summer! How have you fixed up your balcony? I would love to hear your tips and tricks in the comments below! Happy summer y’all.
